Being a HETAS registered Installer of Flue and chimney systems we work to a high nationally recognised standard, back that with the same quality and value as we have always provided with District Aerials and you are sure to get the service you’d expect from an established and successful local company.
Why use a HETAS registered installer:
- All work is written off with a certificate of compliance
- Only the best nationally tested products will be used
- The engineer completing the work is up to date on all relevant tolerances and laws
- Most importantly, you know you and your family are in safe hands
As a HETAS Registered Installer, you will be given a HETAS Certificate of Compliance on the completion of installation work. This is of great help in demonstrating that the job was carried out by a competent individual, working for a HETAS Registered Business. The information on the form is used to record your installation and in England & Wales it is used to notify your Local Authority Building Control Department of the work that was undertaken. This “self certification” by competent registered installers takes the place of a Local Authority Building Notice which could cost you a significant amount of money (sometimes up to £300).
The information will be available to Solicitors in any home selling process. Failure to notify the Local Authority (slight variations in process exist between England & Wales and Scotland), can be an offence resulting in enforcement action being taken against Householders or the installer.
In England & Wales Regulation 16A of the Building Regulations 2000 was amended in 2004 and places a duty on HETAS Registered Installers to give the property owner a certificate stating that the work carried out by the installer complies with Regulations 4 and 7 of the Building Regulations.
SAFETY BENEFITS
I am sure we don’t have to tell you about the importance of a clean, secure, inspected and certified heating system to your health and safety. In the UK 200 people needlessly die or become seriously ill due to carbon monoxide poisoning annually. The main symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning are severe headaches, chest or stomach pains, drowsiness, nausea, dizziness and general lethargy. If any of these symptoms are experienced, medical advice should be sought and heating appliances and flue ways should be checked immediately. Many healthcare professionals do not recognise the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, as it is often confused with the flu.
Having your chimney or flue system cleaned, replaced or inspected by a HETAS Registered Installer will eliminate the risks associated with this deadly toxic gas.
